MLP Next Gen: Lumbra Mare

Backstory: Eclipse is the daughter of Luna and Sombra so immediately you'd know she has issues. She lived a normal life (well, at least as normal as the child of two people who were villains at one point in there lives could get) up until she was 16-17 years old. Around this time, her father was beginning  to experiment with dark magic and his relationship with Luna was beginning to crumble. He was always in his "private room" flipping through an ancient book full of dark spells and incantations. Right before his conquest of the Crystal Empire, he went to Eclipse and told her of his plans and how he was sure he could accomplish great things...with her help. She was of course shocked at his plans, but with his devilish coaxing and his convincing promises of power, she had to agree. He had already cast enough spells to corrupt not only his mind, but his body. Changing him into the Sombra we know today. He accomplished almost his entire plan (he already had the Crystal ponies in shackles and had the Crystal Heart hidden away), but once Luna got wind of what was going on she was able to step in and stop him. Eclipse and Sombra were back against the wall, weakened from conquering the empire, and far out numbered by Luna's powerful alicorn magic. Luna decided that instead of destroying her corrupt family, she would simply do what was best for the situation. She banished Sombra to the cold tundra, but she couldn't bear to do the same to her child. So, she forced Sombra to capture her in a dark crystal until Luna could find a way to reform her. But as the years went by, Luna could find no way to release her. Sombra used one of his more powerful spells to incase Eclipse, probably as one last cruel joke. She was released from her crystal encasing when a surge of magical energy shot through Equestria. Nopony was sure how or why, but it did the trick at releasing Eclipse. Her cell had already been greatly weakened when Sombra escaped his banishment in Season 3. She went into hiding for two years, rebuilding her strength. 

Personality: Eclipse is mischievous and sarcastic and she loves to mess with ponies. Occasionally her tricks can end in a cruel way. She isn't (always) intentionally mean, but she can come out as blunt and rude if she isn't careful. She adores the dark, and acts almost nocturnal if she isn't needed during the day. She has extraordinary abilities (normal and corrupt) but she spends her days pulling tricks and sleeping through Luna's attempted lessons. She is very out of touch when it comes to making friends, either trying so hard that she pushes them away, acting as if she doesn't care so much that they lose interest, or simply not knowing what to do or how to communicate. She does have one friend, though. Her cousin Solar Flare. Solar Flare knows what it's like to be unsure of what the future lies and how to make friends. She and Eclipse will have long, meaningful conversations or pointless ones that have no meaning other than making each other laugh. Even though they are basically opposites, they get along better than Luna and Celestia ever did in the show. (I imagine Tia and Whoona got along much better as foals)
